FAQs and Troubleshooting

FAQs for in-person attendees

Will Quantum Australia take place in person?

Yes! We’re looking forward to welcoming all registered in-person attendees at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf on 23-24 February.

Quantum Australia is a hybrid event and will also be live streamed and shared on an interactive virtual platform for those who wish to join us online.

The online Careers Fair (25 February) features two panel discussions, 14 presentations from industry and government sponsors, and access to over 50 innovative research posters.

What Covid safety measures will be in place?

Doltone House has a COVID-19 Safety Plan in operation in accordance with all Government and NSW Health guidelines and is registered as a NSW Government-recognised COVIDSafe Business.

Our COVID-19 safety precautions have been put in place to keep all attendees safe, and form the Conditions of Entry to the event:

  • You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or show evidence of a negative PCR test within three days prior or a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) taken on the same day.

  • Be prepared to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative test result when requested by event staff.

  • Check in and out with the Service NSW QR code provided at the venue.

  • Wear a mask in all indoor settings (unless medically exempt or when eating and drinking).

  • Maintain physical distancing (keep 1.5m away from others) where possible. Please note we will be instituting capacity limits at Quantum Australia to assist with social distancing.

  • Avoid physical greetings.

  • Wash your hands regularly and practise good hygiene.  Please note we will have plenty of hand sanitiser and soap available on site.

  • Practise cough etiquette (coughing or sneezing into your elbow or tissue).

  • Be aware of and adhere to NSW Health guidance if you have been exposed to COVID-19 (requirements are dependent on type of contact).

And of course, you must stay home if you are feeling unwell or have been directed to self-isolate.

If you can no longer attend, please see our ticket terms and conditions and contact us at info.sqa@sydney.edu.au.

Let’s stay safe together!

What’s the best way to get to the venue?

Virtual Platform Troubleshooting

Having trouble logging in to the virtual platform?

Both in-person and online attendees have access to the Quantum Australia virtual platform. Please ensure you log in using the email address supplied on registration.

Email us at info.sqa@sydney.edu.au if you are experiencing any log in issues.

Why can’t I view live.quantum-australia.com properly?

If you are experiencing issues, you can troubleshoot using the below suggestions.

Browser recommendations

For best results using the platform we recommend opening the platform in one of the following internet browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.

Check that you have enabled pop-ups in your browser

This means you won't miss a notification asking whether you want to resize your video into a smaller window. This allows you to keep viewing and listening while engaging with other functionality such as asking questions in Q&A or connecting with fellow participants.

The live stream stops and I see the spinner

Fluctuations in your internet connection can pause the live stream to buffer. Don't worry. The live stream will continue as soon as your device gets a more stable connection. The live stream should auto start.

I have refreshed the live stream, but the video player keeps spinning.

There might be several factors that may affect the buffering, such as:

· The number of devices connected to your wi-fi network.

· The speed of your internet. Again, it is ideal to have at least 5mbps. Check your internet speed using https://www.speedtest.net. You need at least 5mbps to get the full experience.

· Your distance from the router. Try using your device near the wi-fi router. For technical support, please email support@crowdcomms.com.au

For all other queries, please email info.sqa@sydney.edu.au.
